oH!

Actionscript based animation. "oH" is a project where I wanted to create a program that painted itself. The goal was to create a painting with a sense of perspective, which isn't acheivable with your average automted painter program. Just click and it paints itself with a sense of depth and growth.

InkSPlitz

Ink splotch blitz. A series of symetric patterns and textures produced under chaos theory photoshop filtering. The series of images are shown rapidly using a black and white spectrum of colors. After staring at the screen the viewer's eyes are left in a state of shock similar to when exposed to a flash from a camera. The resulting spot shapes can trigger memory the way staring at a cloud encourages imaginative play.

Parasite

It's gone viral! Inspired by microbial parasites and George W. Bush's constant media attention. The user can create parasites and connect them by clicking. Parasite is a humorous experiment with automated art.

Nailed to Gold

It's CHUCK NORRIS. There has been a recent wide spread internet preoccupation with Chuck Norris. All of a sudden this Action celebrity has been mused as the epitomy of manliness. Nailed to Gold pits this pro-christian, communist killing, karate kicking hero against a celebrity who has a contrasting celebrity status.

After going through the dungeon full of action movie henchmen, Chuck runs into none other than Michael Jackson. These two titans are nearly the butt of every internet joke and knowledge of their standing is nearly inescapable in American culture. This game questions the position of male identity in potrayed in movies and video games. The game cannot be won, instead Michael Jackson mocks the heros linear attempt at victory.

Maya2DTS EXPORTER

I've been researching the exporting of Maya files into the Torque Game Engine. I've had some success in modifying the exporter to complete a few steps in the exporting process.

"Empty Words" is a calendar project that focuses on expressing the lack of connection in relationships that rely on formal mannerism alone. As time goes by the relationship progressively deteriorates because of lacking interest from both parties.

"The Streets" is a digital print about modern presentation. Advertisers are able to present their products in unique beautiful ways. They project a general consensus that their product is an accepted norm among peers and it promotes well-being. Under the surface the product may turn the consumer into a spiritual pauper, but he/she may not be aware. He/she is duped by the beauty of the sirens call.

Slayer is quite possibly the most American band on the planet. They started off as a strong group of individuals making counter-cultural music to subvert the modern rockstar image. As the band became popular they developed there own profitable image. Through merchandising of guitars, shirts, mugs, stickers, hats, jerseys, and an array of products unrelated to the original ideal, slayer fails to fully transend the rockstar image. "The Merchandising of Slayer" is a project that hilights the abandonment of art to make a buck. It includes a timeline with dates of product distribution compared to hit songs of that year. The originality of the art is left to be interpreted by the viewer.
